Privacy Policy

This policy covers Japanese Go on iOS and Android, including the iOS update formerly named Easy Learning Japanese. Japanese Go is intended for language learners aged 13 and above.

Learning and account data

You can learn without signing in. Learning progress, saved words, practice answers and preferences are stored on your device. If you enable cloud sync, the app sends the supported learning progress and practice answers (including a name you enter for a role-play exercise) to our Cloudflare-hosted service, associated with an account identifier and secure session. Optional email or Apple sign-in provides an email address and sign-in identifier to authenticate and restore your account. Apple may provide a private relay address. We do not send your email, role-play names or learning answers to AdMob.

Audio and media

Microphone access is requested only for recording practice. Practice recordings stay on the device and are deleted when you leave the recording exercise; they are not uploaded for analysis. Lesson video, audio and artwork are delivered from Cloudflare R2 over HTTPS. Playback uses temporary buffering. Requests to our service and hosting provider necessarily include network information such as an IP address; security and operational logs may be processed to deliver content, diagnose failures and prevent abuse.

Advertising

The app contains a Google AdMob banner. Google's SDK may collect IP addresses (including approximate location inferred from them), advertising/device identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic/performance data for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. The initial banner configuration requests non-personalized ads. Non-personalized ads may still require consent to device storage and may use data for measurement and fraud prevention.

We use Google's User Messaging Platform to refresh privacy choices and show applicable regional messages before requesting ads. On iOS, we request App Tracking Transparency permission when appropriate before accessing the advertising identifier. Declining tracking does not restrict lessons. Depending on your choices and Google's serving rules, contextual or limited ads may be available. Advertising content and availability are provided by Google. Your choices

Open My → Settings → Ads and privacy to revisit available privacy choices. Tracking permission is managed in iOS Settings. Android advertising identifiers can be reset or deleted in device settings. You can refuse microphone/notification permissions and keep using other features. Notifications are local study reminders.

Retention, deletion and security

Local learning data remains until you reset it or remove the app. Cloud account data remains while your account is active, and is removed from the active service when you successfully delete it. Hosting backups may retain earlier copies until their normal retention period ends. Google processes advertising data under its own policies. Service providers and contact

Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, storage and sign-in email delivery. Apple provides optional Sign in with Apple; Google provides advertising and consent management. These services may process data in countries other than yours. For access, correction, deletion or privacy questions, contact ToanKhonTech.
