About this policy

NoPop is a macOS browser developed by ToanKhonTech. This policy explains how the app handles information and the choices available to you. It covers NoPop itself; websites and services you use in the browser have their own privacy policies.

Data stored on your Mac

NoPop stores normal browsing history, bookmarks, download records, popup exceptions, and preferences locally. Website cookies, cache, and other website storage are managed by WebKit on your Mac. Downloaded files are saved to the location you choose.

History is automatically pruned after 90 days by default. Settings → Privacy lets you choose 30, 90, or 365 days, or Never to disable automatic pruning. Bookmarks and other saved data remain until you remove them.

Restore tabs on next launch is off by default. If you turn it on, NoPop saves normal tabs and window state when you quit so it can restore them later. Private windows are excluded.

Websites, searches, and network requests

Browsing connects your Mac to websites and the resources they load. These services receive information needed to handle requests, such as your IP address, requested address, and applicable cookies. Information you submit to a website is sent to that website.

Search queries are sent to your selected search provider: DuckDuckGo by default, or Google or Bing if you choose one. NoPop also requests website icons to display in tabs. Those websites and providers may collect information under their own policies. NoPop does not proxy this traffic through a ToanKhonTech server or upload your browsing history to us. Popup blocking does not block all website tracking.

Private windows

Tabs in a private window share temporary website storage for that window. Private visits are not added to browsing history or saved for session restore. Closing the private window discards its temporary website storage and download list.

Files you download and bookmarks you deliberately save can remain after a private window closes. Private browsing does not hide your IP address or activity from websites, your network operator, or your internet provider.

Deleting data with Panic Wipe

Panic Wipe (⌘⇧⌫) lets you select categories of local data to clear, including history, website data, tabs, bookmarks, popup exceptions, download records, and preferences. Check the selected categories before confirming; a skip-confirmation preset is optional in Settings → Privacy.

Clearing download records removes the list, not files already saved to disk. You can delete those files in Finder. Panic Wipe does not erase information held by websites, search providers, network operators, or backups outside the app, and it does not guarantee forensic erasure.

Permissions and diagnostics

NoPop uses the macOS App Sandbox. Outgoing network access enables browsing. Access to files you select allows saving downloads and reopening their location; printing is available when you request it.

NoPop does not include a developer-operated analytics or crash-report upload service. The app can write diagnostic messages to the local macOS logging system. Apple may process system diagnostics according to your macOS privacy settings and Apple's policies.

For privacy questions or requests, email support@toankhontech.com. If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you choose to include and use it to respond to your request. Please avoid sending passwords or sensitive browsing information.

We cannot remotely view or delete browsing data stored only on your Mac. Use the app's privacy controls to manage that data.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy and its date when NoPop's data practices change. The policy is bundled with the app and can be read without an internet connection from Settings → Privacy, the Help menu, or the Welcome window.
